Q: How can we assuage our guilt for the carbon footprint incurred by taking a long-haul flight to The Lodge?
A: We have done the maths and, in addition to our ongoing programme of tree planting, we will also plant a tree for every person who stays at The Lodge in order to off set your footprint. You can chose from: Nutmeg, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Allspice, Frangipani, White Cedar or Neem

Q. I have a wheat/gluten/nut/etc. allergy. Can you cope with my diet?
A. At The Lodge we are well versed in dealing with dietary allergies. We are able to accommodate almost any special (non-animal) dietary requirements be they for health, allergy or religious/lifestyle reasons.

Q. What are the facilities on offer at The Lodge?
A. The Lodge offers a complete Vegan environment

Q. Can I bring my children to The Lodge?
A. Yes, if you book both rooms. However, please bear in mind that each room has only one double bed.

Q. How far are you from the airport?
A. Less than 20 minutes drive, but don’t worry as airport transfers are included in your package so you will be collected from and delivered back to the airport.

Q. Where are you in Grenada?
A. The Lodge is on Richmond Hill on the Morne Jaloux ridge in the parish of St. George’s. We are half a mile from Fort Frederick and less than three miles from the centre of St. George’s, Grenada’s capital city.

Q. What is there to do in Grenada?
A. Grenada is a place to be; not a place to do - so bring your own silence and let Grenada welcome you

Q. How does one get about in Grenada?
A. Car, scooter and bicycle rental are available, however, please bear in mind that in Grenada we drive on the left. There is also a good public bus service (from outside The Lodge). Taxis, tour companies or private tour operators are plentiful so getting around is not a problem.

Q. How far is The Lodge from the beach?
A. Grand Anse Beach is about 45 minutes walk or less than 10 minutes drive away.

Q. How close is The Lodge to the tourist sites?
A. As Grenada is only 21 miles long by 12 miles wide nowhere is very far from The Lodge.

Q. Is it necessary to immunise against any diseases?
A. No, but as there are no free medical services in Grenada we strongly recommend a comprehensive medical insurance policy for your holiday/vacation.

Q. Are there mosquitoes in Grenada?
A. Yes, but they are not as big as the ones in Canada but larger than the midges in Scotland. There is no malaria in Grenada – unless you bring it!!

Q. What is the local currency in Grenada?
A. The local currency is the East Caribbean Dollar (EC$) which is tied to the United States Dollar at a rate of 1 US$ = 2.67 EC$.

Q. Should I bring local currency and/or travellers cheques?
A. Travelling with local currency (EC$) is not necessary. We recommend that you bring US$ travellers cheques which are accepted in all the banks and most shops. Change some into local currency when you are here.
